Congratulations to Fr. William Robinson who was ordained a priest on May 18, 2019 at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston.

He is assigned to the Collaborative of Holy Family Parish in Concord and Saint Irene Parish in Carlisle.

What are some of the factors that led to your decision to enter the seminary and discern the question of a vocation to the priesthood?
Being open to God, spending time in prayer, and researching what the seminary and priesthood are about all helped me to discern my vocation.

Who are some of the people who influenced your decision to enter the seminary? What is it about them that assisted you?
My parish priest, friends, and fellow parishioners were of help. They encouraged me on my journey.

What would you say is the role of prayer in the life of a seminarian and what effect does it have on one's ability to see God's call?
Prayer is very important. Praying the Rosary and spending time in front of the Blessed Sacrament are very helpful in understanding God's call.

What advice would you give to a man who thinking about his vocation and is considering that God may be calling him to be a priest?
Check it out! Really, if you think God may be calling you pray about, bring it up to your parish priest, talk about it with family and friends, contact your local vocation office, research to know more of what the seminary and priesthood are.

What do you like most about being a seminarian?
The fact that at the end of the day, no matter what went on, I can look back on it knowing that the day has been spent on the work of Christ and has been truly purposeful.

What do you think is the greatest challenge facing a man who is considering the seminary?
I think the biggest challenge is the question "what will other people think". It certainly is a fair question. However, it is helpful to remember that any relation worth his/her salt will understand in time how important your vocation is to you and eventually be supportive.

What are some of your hobbies or pastimes? What are some of the things you like to do in your "free" time?
I like playing sports, hanging out with friends, and anything that has to do with nature.

What are some of your favorite authors/books/movies?
I like C.S. Lewis, Star Trek, and Harry Potter to name a few.

What do you think is the best way to encourage vocations to the priesthood in the Archdiocese of Boston?
Spread the word on the joys of the priesthood!
