seminary you presently attend Blessed John XXIII Seminary

What are some of the factors that led to your decision to enter the seminary and discern the question of a vocation to the priesthhod?
I am desiring to find God's will for for my life and how I can best serve Him and the Church.

Who are some of the people who influenced your decision to enter the seminary? what is it about them that assisted you?
My spiritual advisor Fr. Martin Connor, my former pastor Fr. Henry Doherty, my Pastor Fr. Chris Hickey as well as my good friend Fr. John Carmichael. All of these men demonstrated in their own way how to to serve God and how to be spritual Fathers for their parishes.

What would you say is the role of prayer in the life of a seminarian and what effect does it have on one's ability to see god's call?
It is through prayer and meditation, especially during adoration, that one can best discern God's will for your life.

What advice would you give to a man who thinking about his vocation and is considering that god may be calling him to be a priest?
Prayer. Pray the rosary and ask for the Blessed Mother to intercede on your behalf. Attend adoration, and pray before the Blessed Sacrament often.

What do you like most about being a seminarian?
The brotherhood that one experiences with all of his brother seminarians, and the sense of peace and happiness that one finds in doing God's will.

What do you think is the greatest challenge facing a man who is considering the seminary?
As Blessed John Paul II said, "Be not afraid".

What are some of your hobbies or pastimes? what are some of the things you like to do in your "free" time?
The Red Sox, the Patriots and movies.

What are some of your favorite authors/books/movies?
James Bond 007, Casablanca, The 10 Commandments...

What do you think is the best way to encourage vocations to the priesthood in the archdiocese of Boston?
Encourage families to talk about and encourage their children to consider a vocation to serve God and one another. Students often agonize in minute details about whether they want to pursue careers as doctors, or engineers, or lawyers, and yet they seldom consider a vocation. Why? It's the responsibility of parents and grandparents to discuss this possibility with their children and other family members.
