Father Michael C. Harrington

Fr. Michael Harrington was born and raised in Swampscott, MA. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Harrington and has 4 brothers and one sister. He is a graduate of Swampscott High School (class of 1984) and the University of Massachusetts/ Amherst (class of 1988) where he received a B.A. in Economics and Political Science. After graduation, he worked as an accountant for The Boston Company for five years.


He entered St. John’s Seminary in Brighton in 1994 where he received a Bachelor’s of Philosophy in 1996 and a Master’s of Divinity in 2000. He was ordained to the Priesthood on May 27, 2000. Fr. Michael Harrington served as Parochial Vicar of St. Paul’s in Wellesley from 2000 to 2005. During that time, he also served as Massachusetts State Chaplain for the Knights of Columbus 2002-2004. He currently serves the Archdiocese of Boston as the Assistant Director of the Office of Vocations (2005-present) and the Director of the Office of Outreach and Cultural Diversity (2010-present). On November 22, 2009, he made his First Profession as a Diocesan Priest in the Institute of Jesus Priest aggregated to the Society of St. Paul and the Pauline Family.
