Message from the Archbishop Of Boston

Welcome to the web site for the Vocation Office for the Archdiocese of Boston. It is my hope that this site will help us all to promote a culture of vocations, especially among the young people of our parishes and schools. Vocations are everybody’s business
and your participation in this important work is greatly appreciated.

Through the words of his first public address, delivered from the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, Pope Benedict XVI offered us a guide for discerning God’s call in our lives, “Open wide the doors to Christ – and you will find true life.” We need to hear the Holy Father’s words as we consider our vocation. If God is calling you, or someone you know, to priesthood or religious life, it is important to be aware of that call and to pray for grace and strength. The Archdiocesan Vocation Office stands ready to assist with the process of discerning the Lord’s call and learning more about the means of responding.

A vocation to priesthood or religious life is a gift from God and a blessing for the Church. A life dedicated to the service of the Lord and His people is filled with joy and a true sense of mission. May our hearts and minds always be open to the words of Jesus given to each one of us, “Come, follow me”.
