Description
Again this year the Vocation Office will sponsor an Altar Server Appreciation Mass with Cardinal Seán O’Malley for youth altar servers. A “Make Your Own Sundae” social time with various religious orders will follow at the Cathedral High School Gymnasium.
During the Mass, the Cardinal will bless and acknowledge those altar servers in attendance. He will present them with a small gift in appreciation for their service. Pope John Paul II and Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Awards will be given to four youth who have exhibited exemplary character of service to God and their parish communities.
The Pope John Paul II Award is given to one Junior Server and one Senior Server who have shown exemplary service to their parish and their community by their imitation of Pope John Paul II. The recipients are young men of dedication and zeal in service to others, especially at the Altar. Click here for the Nomination Form.
The Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Award is given to one Junior Server and one Senior Server who have shown exemplary service to their parish and their community by their imitation of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
